M.C. London Gazette 4.3.1918 2nd Lieutenant Frank Hobson, Royal Flying Corps
Citation London Gazette 16.8.1918 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. He has destroyed several aeroplanes and driven others down and out of control. On one occasion he descended to a height of 100 feet and attacked a party of the enemy with his machine gun, inflicting several casualties on them. He has shown splendid resource and determination on all occasions.'
Sold with copies of tweleve combat reports of missions flown with 70 th Squadron (Sopwith Camels) over France and Flanders. During the time the Squadron were at Vert Villers they met the celebrated Richoften circus over Cambria and lost eight Sopwith two -seaters. 1916-18 the 70th Squadron brought down 304 enemy aircraft, Captain Collet M.C. (Bar) fought and wounded Richoften.
