Kingdom of Syria, Cleopatra Thea (sole reign, 126/125 B.C.), AR Tetradrachm, 16.44g., Ake-Ptolemais, diademed and veiled bust of Cleopatra Thea right, wearing stephane, rev. BAØIËØØHØ / KËEOÐATPAØ ÈEAØ / EYETHPIAØ, double-cornucopiae tied with fillet, monogram to right, date IÐP (= year 187) in exergue (BMC 1 = LSM, NNM 84, 7 (reverse die); Houghton, CSE 803; Seyrig, Tresors II, 30.242), a little very light pitting on cheek and at edge of reverse between 7 and 8 o'clock, almost extremely fine, of the highest rarity, this being the fourth known specimen Estimate £ 10,000-12,000 The other three known specimens are in the British Museum, the Bibliothèque Nationale (Seyrig Collection), and ex NFA auction XVIII, 31 March 1987, lot 379 ($50,000)
