Richard III, type 3, Angel, 4.99g., St. Michael standing slaying the dragon, reads ricad, rev. ship bearing shield and cross, r and rose at sides, normal leopard on forecastle, reads redempt, broken e both sides, saltire stops, m.m. sun and rose 2 (Schneider 498 (same dies); N.1677; S.2152), raised flake of metal on Angel's right wing, and corresponding on reverse, probably repaired, reverse slightly double-struck, otherwise about very fine, rare Estimate £ 1,400-1,600 provenance: W Cunningham, Glendining, 31 January 1951, lot 340
