Henry VI, restored, Angel, 5.15g., London (?), St. Michael standing slaying the dragon, reads henricvs dei gra, rev.ship bearing shield and cross, h and lis at sides, reads crvce and redemtor, saltire/trefoil stops, no m.m. (Schneider 448 (same dies); Allen G/n; N.1613; S.2078), lightly double-struck on reverse, otherwise very fine or better, rare Estimate £ 1,500-2,000 provenance: E M Norweb, Spink Auction 45, 13 June 1985, lot 206. Henry VI restored Angels struck from Allen obverse dies G and H form a closely interlinked group and do not die-link in with the other dies attributed to London, which themselves are closely interlinked, SCBI47 p.38. This separate group is known as the 'Lis group' and it is possible that it represents the 'missing' output of the York mint.
