Bank of England, Matthew Marshall, a trial £ 5, London, 11 August 1843, black text on pale blue 'BANK OF ENGLAND' watermarked paper, ornate crowned vignette of Britannia (earlier style) top left, value in black tablet low left, top right in solid black background a French anti forgery warning, manuscript annotation low right (cf B.203, p.39 for similar), possibly a trial sent to France for study/ reference purposes or possibly to study its anti forgery capabilities.
