Potter, NC 1963, subdivides the Edward III third period nobles into types I and II. Type II has larger lettering and the design is engraved in a less detailed, more florid, style. It is easily identified by the bowsprit which passes through, rather than behind, the forecastle. There is no example in the Schneider collection.
