Manuscript Ephemera: Ludwig Family Archive, 1800s. Quite an unusual group of written material and photographs, several in the uniform of Grand Commander of the Knights Templar. This family came to America in 1855 from Prussia, and there is a passport from that year under the authority of the Prussian king. Another document naming William Bandemer Ludwig from Neustadt, West Prussia dated 1885 proclaims that he has been granted citizenship in America. There are lovely images in military uniform with sword and a hat with a spike-type piece on the top and a "US" belt buckle, from a Richmond photographer. Still another portrait was taken by a photographer in Birmingham, Alabama. A great lot, perhaps with genealogical importance. Very fine. Estimate US$ 100-150
