Davis, Richard Harding American journalist and novelist (1864-1916); covered the Spanish-American War, the Second Boer War, and World War I. ALS "Richard Harding Davis," 2pp, 8vo, on imprinted stationery of the Albany Club, [London], no date [1892]. He writes theologian Canon [Frederick William] Farrar, apologizing for "not coming to pay my respects to you and Mrs. Farrar sooner but I have only been in London off and on and wished to wait until I was settled here...I cannot accept your very kind invitation...My brother [Charles Belmont Davis] is going with me to Oxford for the next few days..." In very good condition. We are able to date this from Charles Belmont Davis´s edition of his brother´s letters, in which he mentions the visit. Estimate US$ 40-50
