Costello, Helene American silent film actress (1906-57); began as a child actress, starring early on with her sister Dolores, who enjoyed greater success; starred in the first all-talking feature, Lights of New York. Beautiful SP "For darling Joan - with my love / always / Helene / 2/4/29" over dark area at lower right corner. A wonderful ca. 14" x 11" close-up of the glamorous beauty looking downward. Slightly age-toned, otherwise in very good condition. Since Ms. Costello died at age 50, her signed images are quite uncommon. Estimate US$ 75-100
