Castle, Irene American dancer, actress, and model (1893-1969); often appeared with her husband and dancing partner, Vernom; the pair were a major factor in the dance craze of the teens; famed as the "best dressed woman in America". Gorgeous postcard SP "Irene Castle" over light and mid-tone areas of image, a full-length portrait created in 1914 by Ira L. Hill of New York.. On verso is an ANS "Irene Castle," explaining that "I´m sorry but all my things are packed - photographs and all...this is all I have left..." Age-toned, with bent lower right corner, lightly soiled on both sides, otherwise in very good condition. Estimate US$ 100-150
