Manhattan Water Pipe, 1799. -A two inch slice of the wooden pipe used to carry water to Manhattan in the late 18th and early 19th Centuries. These pipes were found as streets were dug up for various improvements, and those few in good condition long after their initial installation were preserved, some in long pieces, and others in small pieces. The piece of pipe is 10" high and 12" wide, mounted on a 12" base. Estimate US$ 100-150
