Auction: 284 - Bond, Share & Americana Mailbid & Internet Exclusive
Lot: 1334
New York: Pennsylvania Railroad Photographic Records Most unusual and possibly unique lot of 235 photographs documenting the construction on the West Side of Manhattan of the tunnel and approaches to New York. These were in three groups, and were the personal copies of Vice-President Samuel Rea, and the remains of the leather covers of two of the groups are included. They were sold many years ago in an auction at Freeman & Co. in Philadelphia. The images are all slightly smaller than 8 x 10" and are all labelled, some on the image, others on the verso. Included with this lot is a small book of maps of Newark-Trenton-Philadelphia Baltimore-Washington-Pittsburgh with excellent detail, and in very fine condition, all maps being mounted neatly on linen. A marvelous lot. Estimate US$ 200-300
