Butler, Benjamin F. One of the most famous of the political generals of the Civil War, familiarly known as "Beast Butler." After the War, he was instrumental in establishing the National Asylum for Disabled Volunteer Soldiers in Washington, DC. The present lot consists of railroad passes and other related objects. Four DS "Benj. F. Butler," railroad passes. There are 24 railroad passes signed by aides of Butler as well. This is a great story about the work of the man who managed the impeachment trial of Andrew Johnson, while he was a Congressman. Estimate US$ 50-75
