Ex-library, from the Newberry Library [with labels on front pastedown; withdrawn as a duplicate!]. Edges of extremities stained from binder´s glue. Interior lightly foxed but sharp and tight. Owner´s bookplate of Weir Mitchell on free front endpaper, with inscription on recto "Given by Phillip [sic] Schuyler to W.M." Pencil inscription on title page: "For Mrs. Genl. Hamilton with best respects of the author." and below that, in ink "Elizth. Hamilton," though we have been unable to confirm that this is in her hand. With a fine clamshell case.
