Featuring Thomas Hart Benton, nicknamed “Old Bullion” for his steadfast advocacy of gold bullion, an American politician and influential figure who served in both the United States Senate and the United States House of Representatives. The reverse features a classic golden-orange tone, suggestive of the metallic wealth that underpinned exchangeable currency. The final $100 note issued in this format.
