Collection of Clay Tokens (22) | Nepal, Anonymous, clay Tokens (2) of uncertain denomination, Obv. two intersecting equilateral triangles form a hexagon, sword with garland in centre, Rev. central circle with pellet and four attached petals, each containing the design of a mace (?), legend around the edge in Newari script, Śrī Matha Sim Kha siyā, (RGV T10; Mitchiner, 1979, p. 281, no. 2301a), good very fine; clay Uniface Tokens (2) of uncertain denomination, VS 938, sword with garland, inscription around the edge Samvat 938 (1818), written retrograde (RGV T11), very fine; another, much as before (RGV T11), very fine; clay Uniface Tokens (2), much as before, Rev. syllable Śrī, written retrograde (RGV T12), about very fine; clay Half-Token of uncertain denomination, much as before, cut in half in modern times to determine the composition, 0.7g (RGV T13), very fine; clay Token of uncertain denomination, Obv. sword in centre and legend Śrī Bā Ma Da, Rev. Śrī Bhīma…, also inscription on the edge which may include a date Sam 9…, 1.1g (RGV T14), damaged, very fine; clay Triangular Half-Token of uncertain denomination, Obv. Śrī and dotted border, Rev. open circle with pellet inside and dotted border around (RGV -), very fine; clay Tokens (4), some possibly dated, in the style of silver coins of the Malla or Shah period, (RGV -), some may have served to pay workers or to entitle the owner of the token to use irrigation water during fixed periods of time, generally very fine; clay Tokens (3), some dated, (RGV -), these pieces appear to be modern fabrications, albeit they are scarce, fine or a little better; clay Tokens (5), undated, made from moulds in imitation of coins of the Malla or Shah period, (RGV -), it cannot be ascertained whether these are old pieces or modern fabrications, generally fine (22)
