1929 Pair of studio photographs of the Earl of Athlone (1874-1957), brother of Queen Mary, and Princess Alice, Countess of Athlone (1883-1981), signed "Athlone" and "Alice Mary" while the Earl was serving as Governor General of South Africa. Princess Alice, a grandaughter of Queen Victoria, bejewelled and wearing the Royal Family Order of King George V. Housed in matching brown leather frames by Walter Jones, London.
