1906 Pair of presentation photographs of the then Prince and Princess of Wales (the future King George V and Queen Mary), signed "George P / India 1905-6" and "Victoria Mary / India 1905-6", who were on a significant Royal Visit to India at the time. The photographs, by W&D Downey of London are in domed dark leather frames by Edwards & Sons, London and have the royal cyphers at the top. The photograph of the future Queen Mary was taken in 1902. She is seen wearing the looped tiara (subsequently dismantled) and dressed for the 1902 Coronation of King Edward VII. These formal images served as the design for a famous set of Rhodesian stamps issued in 1910, known as the "Double Head issue" (16x22cm) (2)
