1816 Invoice rendered by William Balcombe (1779-1826), official purveyor of supplies to Napoleon while in exile on St. Helena, for stores at "the establishment at Long Wood", including "12 Tumblers, 8 Soup Plates (Pewter) and 12 ditto ditto (Tin)". The total cost being £5.15.0. Signed by Balcombe, a veteran of the Battle of the Nile and the East India Company's Superintendent of Public Sales on St. Helena. Napoleon lodged with Balcombe on his arrival on the island before he was rehoused at Longwood (20x16cm)
