Army and Navy Collection
A group seven various financial documents all relating to the upkeep of the Royal Army.

This collection includes; a receipt written by William Sydenham, with a partial signature, for payment of wages to Parliamentarian soldiers, a receipt from 1705 for the payment of forces for the protection of the King of Portugal, a letter from 1745 appointing an attorney to John Legas who illegally sold arms to the French during the War of Spanish Succession, a tally of payments from the Office of Ordnance in 1752 signed by the Commander in Chief during the Seven Years War (Field Marshall John Ligonier), a letter appointing the paymaster of the Warwickshire Militia, and a pair of receipts for payments to the Ordnance Office signed by Abraham Newland.

Also, three documents relating to payments within the Royal Navy.
