1666 Poll for the War with Holland
1666 (21 Feb.) document headed "My Lord", with complete address panel to Dudley North, Baron North demanding poll tax of £20.1s for himself, and 1s for his wife under the act of "raiseing Moneyes by a Poll & otherwise towards ye mainteynance of ye presente Warr" to be paid to John Clutterbuck. Signed by Edward Montagu, Charles Howard, John Egerton, John Belasyse, Richard Sterne, Arthur Annesley, Francis Newport and Charles Gerard. A wonderful selection of signatures.

Notes: The 1666 Poll issued by Charles II raised funds for the war with Holland. Just a few months after this document, the Dutch entered the Medway, the Treaties of Breda following in July.
