"The Winners Egg" created by Sarah Fabergé inspired by Lord Derby's outstanding racehorse Ouija Board, from a 2007 St Petersburg Collection limited edition of 50, the egg mouth-blown in emerald coloured fine lead crystal, and hand enamelled using 23-carat gold, the fluted pedestal is hand-etched with a theme of horseshoes amid typical Fabergé decorative swags, the lower half of the egg with stirrup motifs carved and high-fired in gold, and above with golden trellis work and winners' wreaths, the finial modelled as a jockey's cap in gold and silver, four double crystal panels allow a glimpse of the feature within the egg, a portrayal of Ouija Board, with jockey up in the black and white colours of Lord Derby, being met and congratulated by the groom as he leads the victorious filly back to the winner's enclosure, overall height 24cm.  *** European Union’s Artist’s Resale Right Directive (adopted by the United Kingdom): An Artist's Resale Right would be applicable on this lot should the hammer price exceed £999.99 GBP (excluding buyer's premium & VAT).
