Orkney Islands: 1852 (23 Dec.) wrapper to Kirkwall bearing 1d. red-brown (three large margins) cancelled by black Maltese Cross and faint Scottish numeral , the reverse with a good strike of "westray/penny post", vertical folding crease; 1853 (28 Apr.) wrapper to Kirkwall bearing 1d. red-brown (mixed margins) tied by black Maltese Cross and Scottish numeral, the flap bearing a good strike of "sanday/penny post"; late use of the Maltese Cross. Also 1847 (4 Feb.) entire to Edinburgh bearing 1d. red-brown (good to large margins) cancelled by manuscript ink cross and tied by Scottish numeral of Montrose, undated Marykirk in blue, the reverse with Montrose and Edinburgh c.d.s., a vertical crease just clear of the adhesive. Good double postmarked covers. (3 covers)
