Red and Black: 1842 (17 Mar.) wrapper to Gateshead bearing plate 20, GF, GG (each with good to large even margins) marked "Late" (accounting for the extra 1d.) and incorrectly struck by two strikes of the Maltese Cross in orange-red and overstruck by two strikes of the correct cross in black. the reverse with London (Borough) despatch and Gateshead arrival datestamp.
