1840 (14 Aug.) envelope to London bearing 1840 Two Pence Blue, plate 1, PD in a lighter shade showing some early plate wear, close to large margins and just tied by a light strike of bright red Maltese Cross, marked "above 1 oz" with "more/to/pay" in double circle and manuscript "2" which has been crossed through and another value added; the reverse with "Harting/Penny Post", Petersfield despatch and London arrival c.d.s.
