1842-1900, a charming group of used advertising envelopes including 1843 Wholesale and Retail Stationers with list of prices "Envelopes with Penny Stamp, 1s. per Doz. for ready money only", addressed to Great Yarmouth and bearing 1841 1d. red-brown tied by '2' in Maltese Cross; 1854 with John Arliss (Plymouth agent) embossed flap to Helston; 1878 Wellington Knife Polish 1d. pink envelope to Sheffield; 1890s Blundell Spence & co. unused; 1900 "United we Stand, Divided We Fall" red and blue envelope to Matlock bearing Jubilee 3d.; 1864 Fire Office and Sun Life Assurance Society envelope to Nottingham bearing 1d. stars; 1842 "The Only House in london Where you can purchase Penny Post Stamps Envelopes for One Shilling Per Dozen" sent to Royston "Ware X Post" bearing 1d. red-brown, Plate 16; and 1876 printed envelope illustrating railway trains and warehouses, addressed to Hyde Park. A most attractive group.
