1781 (Sept. 26). Entire letter, showing disinfection slits, from the Consul of the Kingdom of Naples in Corfu (Kerkyra), Mr Demetrio Micazza, to the Supreme Health Magistrate in Naples, marked on the reverse Si gradisca e si comunichi ad agenda 3. Nov. 81, reporting on the quarantine of two Venetian vessels and on the state of pestilence on the Greek island and in neighbouring territories under Venetian rule, the Kingdom of the Morea, and Turkish Albania, including "I did not forget to give attention to repeating the warnings to this Sanitary Office for the use of more exact measures in the disinfection of the letters coming from the Levant and, in truth, that necessary caution is also taken with full attention by the persons responsible for the particular supervision of the health provisions". An English translation of the letter is included.
