1968 (7 Apr.) envelope from Bournemouth to Singapore carried by BOAC on a flight from London to Sydney, bearing GB 1/6d. and with official letter from Postal Inquiry Branch regarding the mail, the envelope burnt and charred at edges
Note: on 8th April 1968, BOAC flight 712 operated by a Boeing 707 bound for Sydney from London Heathrow suffered an engine failure on take-off. The engine caught fire and subsequently fell off leaving a fierce fire burning on the left wing where the engine should have been.
