Spain: 1844-54 an interesting group of covers and fronts with 1844 (24 Jun) wrapper from Cadiz to Manila by "Fragata Haniveles" bearing Cadiz despatch c.d.s. and "franco" in fancy frame in red and a good strike of "filipinas/manila/enero 20 1845" in black, soiling from water damage; 1849 (16 Dec.) envelope to Manila rated "6" with fair strikes of Cadiz despatch and Manila arrival (8.3) arrival c.d.s. and red wax seal on the reverse; 1847 cover front to Manila "via Southampton" with manuscript "1" and a fine strike of the arrival c.d.s. (3.6); 1854 and interesting cover front to Manila and returned to Spain bearing fine strikes of "8Rs." and San Fernando, Cadiz c.d.s. (13.12) in blue. (4 items)
