1841 (3 Oct.) entire letter to Estella, Navarra, Spain, without postal markings but with disinfection slits; the note inside indicated that this letter was carried on the brigantine 'Patriota' first sent to China and directed to Europe via the Isthmus of Suez; typical folding creases, otherwise fine. An unusual letter, probably carried privately via Canton. Also 1846 (June) fragment to Manila bearing Gibraltar dated company oval, a light strike of arc "gibraltar", Hong Kong c.d.s. (18.8) ad Manila arrival c.d.s. (27.10) with "4", "6", and "1/-" manuscript rate marks
