1931 (7 June) Air Orient flight from Saigon to Paris which crashed in Sandoway, Burma, charred and damaged envelope with stamps floated off showing despatch c.d.s. and "courrier accidente/le 7 juin 1931" h.s. with Marseille and arrival (30.6) datestamps on reverse

Note: The Air Orient Fokker was on a scheduled flight from Saigon to Paris. From Rangoon their next stop was Akyab. While flying in bad weather conditions, the aircraft went out of control, hitting trees in heavy rain and strong wind and crashed into a river at Sandoway near Akyab. All four occupants were killed and the plane was damaged beyond repair.
