1925 1r. on 15r. blue and olive surcharge essays, group of six comprising large ‘1R’ in circle (Hammond Giles 1), small ‘1R’ in circle with wide ‘R’ (Hammond Giles 3), large diagonal "one rupee" in red (Hammond Giles 5) and black (Hammond Giles 6), small diagonal "one rupee" (Hammond Giles 9 - as adopted), and small "one rupee" with curved foot to ‘R’ (upper left corner example, Hammond Giles 10), large part to full original gum, most with faintly toned gum (Hammond Giles 5 with a couple of heavier toned spots) and a couple of other blemishes but overall fine appearance, a very good group.
