George II (1727-1760), Five-Guineas, 1738 DVODECIMO, young laureate head left, rev. crowned garnished shield, nine strings to harp, • DECVS • ET • TVTAMEN • ANNO • REGNI • DVODECIMO on upwards lettered edge, 41.96g, 6h (EGC I, 558; MCE 283; S.3663A), possibly once cleaned and assessed by NGC as 'cleaned', nevertheless a classic example of this enduringly popular denomination, with even toning to residually lustrous and uniformly struck devices, a wholesome good very fine
