NGC AU58 | William III, Solus (1694-1702), Five-Guineas, 1699 UNDECIMO, laureate head right, plain below by truncation, rev. crowned shields cruciform, emblem-adorned sceptres in angles, raised letter +• DECVS • ET • TVTAMEN • • ANNO • REGNI • UNDECIMO • upwards on edge, with a lower case U in UNDECIMO; an inverted N in TVTAMEN; and blocked Vs resembling "inverted As", 41.58g, 5h (Schneider II, 478; King 134-135; Stratos -; MCE 169; EGC I, 394; GH 58; S.3454), attractively lustrous with traces of orange-blue cabinet toning across original fields, the reverse gloriously accentuated by honey-golden hues and 'petroleum' glaze, a most striking extremely fine, the date a noted scarcity, truly rare in this connoisseur's state!, with NGC Certification, graded ALMOST UNCIRCULATED 58 (Cert. #8537696-004)
