NGC AU53 | Charles II (1660-1685), "Company of Royal Adventurers Trading into Africa", 'Elephant' Two-Guineas, 1664, first laureate bust with pointed truncation right, Elephant below, rev. crowned shields cruciform, emblem-adorned sceptres in angles, five strings to harp, edge straight milled, 16.69g [257.6grns], 6h (Stratos 152; Schneider II, 430; EGC 204; MCE 32; S.3334), historic scuff to reverse rim at 9 o'clock and by eye, otherwise residually toned with fiery purple-orange hues in recesses, a pleasing very fine, in NGC holder, graded ALMOST UNCIRCULATED 53 (Cert. #8773859-001)
