(x) Richard III (1483-1485), Type 2b, Halfgroat, Tower, (London), (m.m.), RICARD' DI' GRA' REX AnGL' Z FRA, crowned bust facing, pellet below, within tressure of nine arcs, trefoils on cusps, rev. POSVI DEVm A | DIVTOR | E mEVm || CIVI | TAS | LON | DON, long cross with trefoils in angles, 1.45g [22.38grns], 8h, m.m. boar's head 2 [on obverse only] (North 1683; S.2161 the Plate Coin), remarkably full flan for type, with only minor softness to portrait that scarcely obscures the iconic grimace of the Yorkist usurper, a clear regnal reading, and traces of his eponymous boar mint mark, technically very fine, but excessively rare, with very few specimens known and even more seldom encountered in global public commerce
