(x) Edward 'the Confessor' (1042-1066), 'Pyramids' Type, Penny, 1065-1066, Thetford, Godwine, EADPARD REX, bearded and crowned bust right, trefoil of pellets on neck, trefoil tipped sceptre before, rev. + GODPNE ON ÐETFORI, short voided cross, pyramid in angles, 1.32g [20.37grns], 11h (Carson -; SCBI -; Doubleday 530 this coin; North 831; BMC XV; S.1184), struck with an aging obverse die, otherwise richly cabinet toned, a most pleasing and wholesome good very fine, and evidently an extremely rare type for Thetford, with no parallel traced on EMC/SCBI
