(x) Eadgar (959-975), Post-Reform, Penny, 973-975, Norwich, Northberd / Northbert, + EADGAR REX ANGLORx, diademed and draped bust left, rev. + NORÐBERD M¯O NORÐ • small cross pattée in centre, 1.64g [25.31grns], 6h (BEH 31 = Petersson, ASC, no. 1 same dies; H W Henfrey, "Ancient Coins of Norwich", Journal BAA [1879], p. 304 and Pl. I, no. 4 same dies [Stockholm]; SCBI -; North 752; BMC vi [Coll. -]; S.1141), an excellent cabinet coin and worthy 'Plate' specimen, with perfectly-balanced toning and playful hues in recesses, a most wholesome and good very fine, excessively rare, only two specimens being known, and this the only in private hands
