(x) Eadgar (959-975), Portrait Type, "South East Midlands" Group, Penny, Bedford [?], Brother, + EADGAR REX, crowned and draped bust right, rev. + BROÐER MONE[TA B]E, small cross pattée in centre, with cross pattée above and pellet left, right and below, 1.04g [16.05grns], 8h ("Brother, a Bedford Moneyer of Edgar", Stewartby, SNC [October 1994], p. 357 - this coin; BNJ Coin Register [1987], p. 138, no. 127 = EMC 1987.0127 this coin; SCBI -; CTCE -; North 751/3; BMC vb [Coll. no. -]; S.1138 var.), a large fragment with minor cracking and some surface roughness, nevertheless struck details about very fine, UNIQUE, and a significant discovery coin for the mysterious Bedford Mint
