(x) Eadgar (959-975), Circumscription Cross, Penny, Winchester, Frithumund, + EADGAR REX ANGLORV : small cross pattée in centre with pelleted-volutes above and below, rev. + FRIÐEMVND MO PINTO :· small cross pattée in centre, 1.53g [23.61grns], 6h (SCBI -; CTCE 244; North 749; BMC iii var. [Coll. no. -]; S.1135), the obverse die somewhat degraded by cudding, otherwise artistically rendered on a broad flan, with a light tone across an excellent fabric, very fine or bolder, and equally rare, this variety unparalleled in the corpus

In late January 2013, a metal detectorist at Medstead (East Hants), recovered a Two Line Penny of 'EADVVIG' struck by this same moneyer. Notably it too has ornate volute scrolls in lieu of the standard trefoil of pellets suggesting this artistic device was a multi-reign feature for Frithumund as die cutter and coin manufacturer (cf. EMC 2013.0022)
