ÆÐELS | IGE M¯O, legend in two lines, divided by three cross pattées, cross pattée above and below, 1.41g [21.76grns], 12h (HC 1; SCBI -; CTCE -; North 743; BMC ib [Coll. no. -]; S.1129 variety), unfortunate old edge chip at 2 o'clock, otherwise of stable fabric, pleasingly toned, a really bold very fine, extremely rare, only three examples are recorded for type, none bearing this moneyer and with a fine 19th Century pedigree
