A Great War East Africa operations I.O.M. group of three awarded to Subadar G. Mohammad, 127th Baluchis

Indian Order of Merit, Military Division, 2nd Type, 2nd Class, Reward of Valour, silver and enamel, reverse with central screw nut and engraved on two lines '2nd Class Order of Merit', with silver buckle upon riband, some chips to central enamel; Africa General Service 1902-56, 1 clasp, Somaliland 1908-10 (4071 Pte. Ghulam Muhammad, 127/Baluch L.I.); British War Medal 1914-20 (Jemdr. Ghulam Mohd., 2-127 Baluchis), good fine (3)

I.O.M. G.G.O. 9 June 1917 (East Africa).

Ghulam Mohammad enlisted into the Indian Army on 1 June 1908, serving with the 127th Baluchis. He served in Somaliland between 1908-10. Promoted Jemadar of the 2nd Battalion, 127th Baluchis in May 1918, he served in the operations in East Africa and Egypt between March 1915-January 1919. Thence serving on the North West Frontier in India between October 1919-March 1921. A few months later, he was promoted Subadar in June 1921 and the following year in June 1922, he transferred as Subadar to the 126th Baluchis.
