Army of India 1799-1826, short-hyphen reverse, 1 clasp, Ava (W. Kirkpatrick, 89th Foot.), light edge bruising and contact marks, otherwise nearly very fine

Spink, June 1984 & July 2004.

William Kirkpatrick served with the 89th (Princess Victoria's) Regiment of Foot. The unit had seen wide service in the War of 1812 and thence deployed to India. They fought the Pindaris in 1817 and was deployed to Burma in 1824 for service in the First Anglo-Burmese War, including the action at Ava.
