This note is currently unlisted in Pick and the Banknote Book, making it a desirable piece for collectors of unique and unusual banknotes. This essay features a dark blue design with a portrait of a young Captain Cook at the right of the obverse; a portrait that was never used in New Zealand's issued banknote designs. The reverse design features a landscape of the Roxburgh Dam, another unadopted design.
