Belfast Commercial Bank, proof 25 Shillings, Belfast, dated 18--, (circa. 1822-1826), Established in 1809, the Belfast Commercial Bank later became part of the joint stock bank the Belfast Banking Company, though only after no less than 8 changes of partnership in its 18-year history. This note is a later proof, as evidenced by the name 'Perkins & Heath', who produced high quality steel plate engravings.
