Timurid / Mughal, Zahir al-Din Babur (3rd reign 1504-30), Shahrukhis (2), the first the earliest mintless type attributed to Badakhshan, but probably struck at Kabul, with name in central ornamented lozenge, date of flan (AH915), the second mintless and dateless “Badshah Ghazi” type (Album 2462.1, 2462.3; Rahman 01-01, 70-06), both with weak areas possibly caused by mount removal, good fine; Sulayman Mirza (in Badakhshan 1529-84), gold Quarter-Ashrafi, 0.92g, no mint name but struck in Badakhshan, undated (Album 2464), very fine, scarce; Timurid / Mughal, Humayun (1530-56), gold Quarter-Ashrafi, 0.86g, no mint name but struck in Badakhshan, undated, light Shahrukhi, 3.77g, Qandahar, AE Bahloli, Lahore, AH940 (Album A2464, G2464), the first with small part of flan flattened, otherwise very fine with clear legend, the second also probably ex mount, but an attractive good very fine and rare, the last good fine (6)

As Babur adopted the title Ghazi after his defeat of Rana Sanga of Mewar in AH933 coins with this title, such as the second in this lot, are regarded as the first Mughal coins of India
