Silver vesta case, engraved 'B. Coy. R.M.C. 1914.'; Coronation 1937; The Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, case of issue for the M.B.E., very fine (3)
Silver vesta case attributed to Maurice Aden Ley, son of Sir Francis Ley, 1st Baronet. Ley was born on 5 August 1895 and was educated at  Pelham House School, Folkestone, Malvern College and at the Royal Military College, Sandhurst. Commissioned 2nd Lieutenant into The Buffs on 1 October 1914, he served in France and was attached to the 1st Battalion, Lincolnshire Regiment. Young Ley was killed in action on 1 November 1914 and is buried in the White House Cemetery; sold together with copied family research.
