George Edward Death was born at Clerkenwell, London on 2 April 1873. He attested for the Metropolitan Police on 18 February 1896 and served at W Division, Brixton. He was serving at T Division, Hammersmith by December 1899 and was promoted to Police Sergeant on 4 March 1905 and was assigned to B Division, Chelsea. Death was promoted to Inspector on 17 August 1912 and was assigned to K Division, Bow. He resigned to pension on 26 June 1922. He moved to Southend, Essex and died in 1940.
