Northern Banking Company Limited, Northern Ireland, £20, 1st February 1918, serial number 34708,
the Northern Banking Company Limited was established in 1824 and is one of the oldest banks in Northern Irish history. Issued in 1918 towards the end of WWI, this £20 note is one of only 2 known, making it exceptionally rare. The note features the denomination written in bold blue central to the design. Serial numbers are presented in intricate guilloches on either side of the top of the note, branches are presented within the border, and the handsigned signature of R. Laverty is featured at the bottom right. An image of a ship is also presented on the obverse, implying ideas of prosperous trade and commerce. The reverse of this note presents intricate blue designs, with the denomination of £20 presented on either side of a Northern Banking Company symbol at the centre. This note is a true rarity and a prized collector's item,
