The Nicholas Rhodes Collection of Nepalese Coins and Medals: Part One

Normally the Dam was calculated as being the 120íth part of a Mohar, but the actual exchange rate could vary between 119 and 121 Dams to one Mohar. According to an ancient document, in NS 828 (1708) a carpenter received daily wages of 6 Dams plus food (cf. Kölver, Bernhard: Payments on Delivery, or Kau?alya’s Prayāma“(Documents from Nepal 6).
